The Vision
Hana and Andres live in London. She is Persian, he is Colombian, and when it came to marrying they chose to bring both families together in Portugal. In their own words: “We fell in love with Portugal – the stunning landscapes, weather, easy travel access, fantastic hospitality and food.” Solar da Levada, in Braga, became the setting for a celebration meant to be shared by everyone they love.
The Narrative
It was a day rich in tradition, joy and pure love. The ceremony, the Aghd, was celebrated around the Sofreh Aghd, the ceremonial spread that is central to a Persian wedding, and was followed by the Aroosi, the wedding party. The atmosphere created by family and friends from both sides was the heart of the celebration: embraces, laughter and a dance floor full of colour and light. Under crystal chandeliers and in the soft light of the evening, two heritages came together naturally and, from the first moment, felt like a single family.
Our Editorial Approach
Photographing a wedding between two cultures asks for attention to what each tradition holds dear. We worked with guided spontaneity: leaving room for the unscripted emotion of the families while shaping portraits of Hana and Andres with an editorial eye. The result is a timeless gallery where ceremony details, candid reactions and the energy of the night sit side by side, in colour and in black and white.
